I don't like titles

Driving 70 down the freeway and a bird flew down and landed right-right in front of my tire.
Not even a second. Dead. Feathers everywhere behind me. Who does that?

I don't like bubble gum flavored jelly bellies.
Because you are not supposed to swallow bubble gum.
So.
It feels wrong to eat them.

Be a savior

Everyone wants to be a savior. And of such grand things.
The most recent one I saw was in Starbucks today, "Save African Lives."
Save the Planet, I also heard today.
You, sir, can save the planet! And an African's life, sir, today!
Wow.
So many saviors and its so easy! Take shorter showers and buy a travel mug...
Plus there are many more things you can save: Tahoe, rain-forests, whales and manatees!
Not that any of these things are necessarily bad pursuits. Though I do think they probably fit into the 'me-as-god' syndrome. And give some people a religious experience and life-meaning.
Instead.
Steward the Planet.
Love your neighbor.
Love the Savior, Jesus Christ.

burning bush

The blank xanga screen.

So I been thinkin...

The shekinah glory was that first light at Creation. And then that role gets passed on and bundled up in our sun. Which leads me to think the burning bush I colored as a child is a bit misleading. It prolly wasn't a few glowing twigs. I'm thinking it was a bit more impressive. Like the pillar that led the Israelites or the 'star' that led the wise-men. I figure the closest raw power to the shekinah glory that we've glimpsed on this earth would be a nuke. How bout a perpetual nuke, rising from a bush?
This is holy ground.

Yeah...
Maybe I'll paint that.

Oi Les Schwab

I never talk to people outside.
I pass them, they pass me.
We don't look at each-other. Maybe rarely.
Just doin my own thing.
Today I was in a poor neighborhood.
I passed an African American man.
As I passed, He stepped a little to the side and said,"Say excuse me, bro."
I looked back, jolted, but kept walking.
It seems.
This happens to me Only in 'these' neighborhoods.
Apparently I offended him.
And he felt entitled to lecture my manners.
Is it a macho, victim mentality?
Ones surrounding and Ones respect more fragile?
He was with his family.
So protection and dominance?
Or just a thug...
I do notice more of an Aggressiveness.
